PrePurchaseInvestigators.com  could not be easier to use.  There are TWO sides to this directory of Experts.

SIDE ONE

Side one is for the “Person in Need” looking for an Expert to check out something they are interested in buying. That person is called The CLIENT.  The Client does not need to Register or Login and it is FREE to search our EVER GROWING database of Experts. The Client simply clicks on the CATEGORY BOX with the photos of Cars/Trucks, Horses, House/Land, Heavy Machinery, Motorcycles, Boats, or Aircraft and they are directed to a Search Filter and Map.  Simply type in the U.S. city and state the item to be inspected is located and type in some other Search Filter criteria such as specific Services, if necessary, and a List of Experts will appear in order of proximity to the item’s location.

Each Expert Inspector’s Bio will have contact information and professional experience.  It’s hard to list some specific prices without more information, but some may post their range of prices for typical jobs.  You look over their qualifications and contact the Expert directly.  Whatever experience you have with an Expert Inspector, we only ask that you leave an honest review of your experience.

Once you’ve chosen an Expert Inspector and the work is completed, they will send you an Inspection Report with photos and details about the item or the specific things you wanted inspected.

FULL REPORT vs. SHORT REPORT:

What’s nice here is that PrePurchaseInvestigators.com does not believe in a One Size Fits All inspection.  We approve our Expert Inspectors based on their General AND Specific knowledge and expertise.  Not everyone looking to buy a car, airplane, horse, etc. needs a full inspection. A horse buyer may be very satisfied with the photos/video, etc. of the horse’s physical condition and breeding, but needs to know if that horse will PERFORM as the Seller claims.

For instance, if you are looking at a barrel racing horse that has a PPI done recently by a Vet, you still want to send out an expert barrel racer to see how the horse ACTUALLY performs.  This same analogy holds true for any item. You may want a FULL REPORT inspection or you may just need to know that the car doesn’t have signs of bad body work, smelly interior, or has been in a flood (that’s a SHORT REPORT).

There are FULL Inspections and there are SPECIALIZED Inspections. The prices will vary.

Typical expectations of the range of Inspections costs (prices will vary by state and if outside the normal travel range of an Inspector):

Typical expectations of the range of Inspections costs

(prices will vary by state and if outside the normal travel range of an Inspector):

For “regular” Cars, Pickup Trucks, Motorcycles: Ranging $120-$220 (classics or high-performance cost more) for a full report and less for a specialized report.

For RV’s, Boats, Houses: Ranging $400-$800 for a full report and less for a specialized report.

For Heavy Equipment:  Ranging $150-$800 for most full reports and less for a specialized report.

For Small Aircraft:  Ranging $500-$5000+ for most full reports and FAA cert annual inspections and less for a specialized report.  The price varies due to so many levels of aircraft, engines, and avionics. The Inspector will give you an accurate price for YOUR types of aircraft and level of inspection.

For Horses:  Ranging around $100 – $250 for a full report and probably not less for a specialized (different activity, but same amount of time).

FAQ’s

For Clients needing Inspectors:

Is it really free to search for experts on your site?

Yes! Just like the old days. No cost. No Logins. No Registration. We don’t collect anyone’s name or information. We just want you to find who you need.

Who do I pay?

You deal directly with the Inspector you hire. We don’t collect any money from Clients.

Are these Inspectors any good?

We vet them based on the certifications, diplomas, awards, years of experience, and an essay that they write us. They are as good as it gets on that day we let them on our directory.  Being Humans, nobody can tell you how good anyone is on any given day.  That is why as time goes by, the reviews of that Inspector will tell the longer tale.  If an Inspector is new and doesn’t have reviews yet, don’t let that scare you off, they will have just been approved by us and they may also have outside reviews for their business.

What is entailed in an inspection?

That will depend on the item and whether you want a FULL REPORT or a SHORT REPORT.  Inspections are different for horses, houses, and machinery.  If the house inspection is for a mortgage, you will definitely need a full Home Inspection by a Certified/Licensed Home Inspector rather than a specialized inspection by a General Contractor. BOTH wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Aircraft require FAA certified mechanics for annual work and all aircraft you are purchasing will likely have this. However, having an Expert Pilot or Mechanic from our list go look over an aircraft for metal fatigue or any issues from landing gear to the avionics is a good bet. After all, the Pilot In Command (PIC) is ultimately the one who decides if an aircraft is airworthy. Getting an Expert pilot to look at that plane is a good idea.

Can the Experts here perform VALUATIONS of Vehicles, Horses, Boats, Aircraft, etc.?

Most Certainly there will be some Experts here who are qualified to perform Valuations.  You can look at their Profile Bios and see if they mention that as one of their skills.

Do the Experts here do REPAIRS, too?

Yes. Many of the Inspectors here also do repairs and training.  Look at their Bio and see their Other Services and just ASK THEM. They’ll be happy you asked.  You can also go to our Sister Website where it is ALL Mechanics, Techs, Trainers, Builders, and many other service providers. Visit www.Fixers365.com for more.

Can I find a Home Renovation Contractor, a Horse Trainer, a Mechanic, a Pilot's License Instructor, a Web Designer here?

While many Inspectors here offer services beyond Pre Purchase Inspections, you can also go to our Sister Website where it is ALL Mechanics, Techs, Trainers, Builders, and many other service providers. Visit www.Fixers365.com for more.

For Experts wanting to join us:

You really don't charge any fees or percentages on our billed work?

That’s right! We only charge one low annual fee of $199.00. That’s it!  We put our efforts into advertising our site, not looking over your shoulder.  We want people to find OUR SERVICE so they can find YOUR SERVICE!

How many Leads will I get?

There is no way for us to tell you or to guarantee you any number of phone calls per month. There are too many factors such as your population density and geographic competition, your skills, etc.  What WILL make a difference in a Client calling YOU over anyone else will be your PPI Directory Profile and how well you wrote it.  Do your best to sell yourself on your Bio. Don’t just throw your name up there and think that will attract people.

What determines my Qualification Level?

Upon your initial application, we at PPI will review your uploaded documents (WATCH The VIDEOS in the Become An Inspector application page) and make the determination.  After you start interacting with Clients and they leave reviews/ratings on our internal system, that will become the basis of your continuing qualifications.  Remember, you can be certified and licensed (when/where required) or you can have a LOT of experience in general or specific categories.  An Expert isn’t just someone with a piece of paper stating they’ve taken some classes.

What am I waiting for? I should join now!

We agree!  Fill out the application with your experience details and a letter telling us what you would tell a client looking to hire you.

Can Customer Reviews be edited or deleted?

Yes. But ONLY if the review has foul or offensive language or it is determined through our internal investigation that it is a false review from someone who never dealt with that Inspector.

Can I be listed under more than one category?

Absolutely!  You can easily put yourself under any number of Inspection Categories in which you have a suitable expertise.  Just add them in your profile while you are setting it up or go back in Edit Mode and add Categories.

Can I list specific Skills I have under my Inspector Category?

Of course!  Each Inspector Category has a Pre-Filled out list of specific Skills you can add.  If you have a Skill that is not on the list, just let us know by internal email, text, or fill out the Customer Service Form asking us to add your Skill and we will get right to it.

Can I do MORE than Inspections?

Many Clients would be very appreciative if you can do Repairs, Training, Appraisals, and any other work aside from Pre Purchase Inspections.  Feel free to advertise that as a SERVICE you provide and mention it in your Profile’s Bio area!   Also, make sure we include you in our sister website for Service Providers at no extra cost:  www.Fixers365.com
